After 16 years as a gyprock fixer and flusher, Mr Giorgi said he wanted more variety from his job, and research by Hire A Hubby indicates there’s plenty of demand for home services.

‘I just wanted a change; one day I could be fixing a tap, the next day I could be hanging towel rails and another day I could be painting,’ he said.

‘I service everywhere from Ellenbrook and The Vines in the Swan Valley to Caversham and the Midland area.’

He said he had always enjoyed working with his hands and looked forward to the opportunity to help locals out with their home improvement needs.

‘We do everything from backyard maintenance, and installing locks and windows, through to detailed carpentry work and wall and ceiling repairs,’ Mr Giorgi said.

‘I’ve been involved for six weeks, and have already put up a nice little patio for a lady in Muchea and I did bistro blinds in Bellevue last week.

‘It is a rewarding career.’
