KINROSS resident Gordon Park is set to appear in one of the most successful comedy farces of all time at Wanneroo’s Limelight Theatre.

Written by Ray Cooney and directed by Susan Vincent, Run For Your Wife had a nine-year run in London’s West End after debuting in 1983.

The fast-paced comedy follows taxi driver John Smith (played by Park) who has two wives and two apartments and juggles his life on a tight schedule.

When John intervenes in a mugging and suffers a mild concussion, he is taken home to the wrong wife on the wrong day.

The situation quickly gets out of control as he tries to cover up he is a bigamist to avoid his wives finding out, while two detectives investigating the mugging become suspicious of the two different addresses for him registered at the hospital..

“John Smith’s two wives are completely oblivious to each other despite the fact they are practically neighbours,” Park said.

“I saw Run For Your Wife some years ago and, having worked with director Susan Vincent before, I knew her great talent for directing comedy farces would result in a very funny and enjoyable production.”

Vincent said she was drawn to the play because it has “plenty of twists and turns”.

“It is a fast-paced, slapstick, laugh-a-minute romp that leaves you in stitches and begging for more,” she said.
