Banksia Grove doctor on indecent assault charge

UPDATE: THE manager of a Banksia Grove medical practice where a doctor allegedly assaulted a woman says the accused was a contract GP who no longer works there.

Banksia Grove Family Practice manager Jane Pate commented on the matter after police this morning revealed they had charged a 35-year-old Tuart Hill man with the indecent assault of a patient aged in her 20s in March.

“Banksia Grove Family Practice has become aware that a former contract doctor to the practice is the subject of investigation,” she said.

“We are unable to comment on the investigation as the matter is ongoing. We advise that the doctor no longer has any connection with the practice.

“Banksia Grove Family Practice considers the care of patients to be paramount, and wishes to assure the public that its primary concern is to practice medicine in a safe and effective manner.”

EARLIER:

A DOCTOR is alleged to have indecently assaulted a woman at a Banksia Grove medical practice in March.

Sex Assault Squad investigators recently charged the 35-year-old man after investigating his conduct with the woman, aged in her 20s.

Police charged the Tuart Hill man with unlawful and indecent assault.

He is due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court today.

Officers are still seeking information on the matter and have urged anyone with knowledge to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
