Help needed to find vandals

Margaret Price, Joondalup WeekenderWanneroo Times

Vandals covered the Central Park memorial in blue tags overnight last Wednesday, September 25, leaving City of Joondalup contractors to clean up the mess.

RSL president Wendy Tuffin said similar tagging two weeks earlier had not been as extensive.

‘We are disgusted that they have vandalised such a memorial,’ she said.

‘It shows a complete disregard for our guys who fought for this country and their freedom and they (vandals) go and do something like this.’

Joondalup Police Station officer-in-charge Craig Wanstall said someone ” students, teachers or parents ” must know the tags.

‘It’s a disgrace,’ he said. ‘Given what the memorial represents, police are keen for the community’s assistance in apprehending those responsible.’
