‘It is a great honour to have been entrusted by the people of Cowan with this responsibility and I will not let them down,’ Mr Simpkins said. ‘This is my fourth election and in each election I have more and more people in Cowan preferring me.
‘This election has seen a further swing to me, taking the margin to over 7 per cent, the highest margin Cowan has ever had for either side of politics.’
The Madeley resident served in the Australian Army for 15 years before resigning in 2002 and turning to politics, where his focus has been on crime prevention and volunteering.
