Wanneroo Lions Club raffle helps womens refuge

WANNEROO Lions Club’s Easter raffle raised nearly $1000 for a local women’s refuge.

Club members ran a fundraising stall at Wanneroo Central shopping centre over Easter, with lucky winners enjoying hampers filled with tasty treats.

“We even had a few amazingly generous individuals who gave donations on top of purchasing their raffle ticket,” member Glenys Fricker said.

“It just reminds you of how great our local community is when it comes to supporting local causes.”

Part of the raffle proceeds went to providing Easter eggs to the refuge for use in its children’s egg hunt and a further portion will be used for Mother’s Day gifts.
