Workshops empower women

Staff ReporterWanneroo Times

Held at the Joondalup Men’s Shed in Padbury, 16 women attended the four-hour workshop to learn about basic woodwork and using various tools.

‘Not only are the workshops designed to give women the confidence to become more practically independent around the home, but also show that women are working in the trade sector and love it,’ Connolly electrician and TradeUP Australia founder Sarah Jayne Flatters said.

Ms Flatters said women only made up 2 per cent of qualified tradespeople in the country.
