Opinion: Heartbroken over theft of ceramic garden frog

Deb Saville, IlukaWanneroo Times

WE had a multicoloured Talavera ceramic frog plant holder in the front of our garden.

It always brought a smile to my mum and dad’s faces when they visited us.

Mum and dad are now living in an aged care home and it has been a heart breaking transition to forego their own home and garden.

So, the blue frog has sentimental value to them and to me and my husband too.

On May 6, about midnight, my husband heard some noise outside and went out, disturbing a group of teenagers.

It wasn’t until the next day, in daylight that we noticed our frog had gone.

Being ceramic, he cannot hop away by himself.

He is also wounded and taped together.

Someone has taken him.

He is very colourful, with the main colour being a beautiful glossy blue.

Maybe some mum was presented with this beautiful item as a gift on Mother’s Day?

Or it has appeared in someone else’s garden?

If so, we are appealing to anyone who has the frog to help it hop back to its rightful owners.
