Despite the soccer club having been around for 37 years, it had never applied for the City of Joondalup’s club milestone grant.

New secretary Lisa Mooney moved fast after taking on the role last year.

Based at Warrandyte Park in Craigie, Whitford welcomed back past members and players, including life members and former presidents Bill Kniff and Dennis Booth to celebrate the occasion last month.

Whitford committee members also attended a City of Joondalup civic reception, where club president Pat Hulsman accepted the $2000 grant from Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard.

Eligible clubs are encouraged to apply.

Clubs can apply for grants of $2000 for 25 years of operation, $3000 for 50 years, $5000 for 75 years and $7000 for 100 years.
