Falcons win puts them in touch with top four

Staff ReporterWanneroo Times

Despite being held goalless in the last term, a 31-point three-quarter time lead was enough for the fifth-placed Falcons to hold off the Tigers who fought hard to kick four goals in the final stanza.

West Perth took out its fifth win of the year 10.14 (74) to 9.11 (65).

Victory for the home side against the Sharks at Arena Joondalup on Saturday will return the Falcons to the top four on percentage.

West Perth was undermanned heading into the Claremont clash with senior players Chris Keunen, Matt Guadagnin, Ray Bartholomew and Andrew Krakouerall missing through injury.

Young Subiaco recruit Seva Martin (20 hitouts), who stands at an imposing 208cm, slotted in to replace Keunen in the ruck, while Luke Meadows (12 disposals) was added from the reserves side for his first league game of the year.
