The side is heading to San Francisco and Los Angeles for the Development Squad Tour, from June 26 to July 11.

After taking up the sport in primary school, Larissa has risen through the ranks, and currently plays for WA and is hoping to build on this with further international competition.

‘I’ve been playing softball since I was 11,’ she said.

‘Two years ago, I started playing in the state league ” I’ve played in squads both north and south of the river, and the club I’m involved with now is like a big family.’

During the tour, players will receive coaching from top US coaches, who will also be scouting during the 14 games scheduled for the Australian team.

Outside of sport, Larissa is keeping her eye on other career opportunities, with a work experience traineeship at the Department of Environment and Conservation, and as part of Sevenoaks’ Follow The Dream program for indigenous students.
