If we are good enough to win, it will be sheer relief and unbridled joy.
To be totally honest, I am more pleased for our massive supporter base.
Our members and sponsors have stuck with us and committed more and more every year. Winning a grand final would be great reward for them as much as it would be for our players and coaches.
The response to our second semi-final win was overwhelming. I expected a massive response, but didn’t quite realise just how big it would be. Playing East Perth just took the grand final to another level this week.
I didn’t think the stakes could get any higher when you play a GF, but to so many fans it seems it has. Fans, members all want to know about grand final functions and when training is and who is fit and what is the feeling among the players. The other big talking point is the size of the crowd.
I had to turn my phone off a few times in the past two weeks just to get a breather and ensure I focus and can provide support to our office staff and football department.
I have been surprised at the amount of people contacting me for tickets. Many who, to be honest, I don’t know well and would not attend the regular season games. I draw the line on non-members. Members have to be serviced first.
