Tender closes on shopping centre facelift

The expansion will add an extra 19,947sqm to the busy Stockland centre on Settlers Avenue.

Plans were approved by the Metropolitan South West Joint Development Assessment Panel in January.

Major new tenants that have been confirmed include Woolworths and Kmart, while other work includes an expansion of the Coles supermarket.

Stockland’s Commercial Property Development manager Prue Cunningham said there were no dates as yet for construction.

‘We will continue to work closely with Rockingham City Council, and our retailers and local customers, to keep them apprised of all future plans,’ she said.

‘Our plans for expansion will also accommodate about 60 additional specialty stores, a new dining precinct with indoor and outdoor seating, and additional car parking.’

Ms Cunningham said Stockland also purchased an additional 8.6ha parcel of land next to the existing shopping centre.
