CHILDREN can get up close and personal with many fascinating Australian animals at a range of workshops being held at the Rockingham Regional Environment Centre today and tomorrow.

New to Perth, this family event features four dynamic workshops presented by Critters Up Close, Wild About Nature, WestOz Wildlife and The Snake Whisperer.

Centre spokeswoman Pauline Whitehead said children can explore the features of a variety of birds, reptiles, mammals and invertebrates.

“They will also build an animal habitat suitable for a native Australian animal using recycled and natural materials,” she said.

Activities take place during four rotational workshops throughout the day.
