Rockingham residents called on to help Share the Dignity for homeless women

HOMELESS women in Australia have limited resources and often go without sanitary items.

“There is no ducking to the shop for last minute supplies,” Share the Dignity State co-ordinator Deana Lind said.

“When faced with the decision of buying pagds and tampons or feeding their family, these women will always put themselves last and go without sanitary items.”

Makeshift pads are often made from wadded up toilet papers, newspaper or socks.

Women use public restrooms in an attempt to remain clean and feel some level of personal dignity.

Share the Dignity are collecting pads and tampons for women in need until the end of April.
