Lara has only been involved in the sport for four years and competed in the 2017 Australian Gymnastics Championship held at Hisense Arena.

She was competing against 11-14 year olds at a higher level.

“It was challenging moving up to the international stream level from the national level where I had competed before,” she said.

Lara also came second in the State finals at Lords in Subiaco before travelling to Melbourne.

She has been selected as one of five girls in WA to participate in an intensive four-day Team Future camp run by the Australian Institute of Sport in Tasmania later this month.
