Port Kennedy Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan members collect medal haul at Australian titles

TAEKWONDO Oh Do Kwan members in Port Kennedy have just returned from the Australian National Taekwondo Championships in Bendigo, Victoria.

Master instructor Anita Tippet took a team of 13 fighters after their outstanding results from WA State Championships.

It was a young team this year, with members 10 years and above.

The competition was tough but the WA athletes did well.

Port Kennedy’s Chloe Skey, black belt 10 years, won gold, and veteran black belt mother Sally Martin also won gold.

Silver medallists were Beckham Wilkinson, Shanice Simpson, Mia Dolan and Mitchell Payne. Bronze medals went to Amari Simpson, Ava Dolan, Jorden Henness, Taj Barbour and Chris Payne.

Coaching staff Caleb Henness and Jody Pace and referee Simon Sandover also represented WA at the championships.
