THE countdown is on to what promises to be one of the most decadent culinary events of the year – Festival Fromage.

Perth’s inaugural boutique cheese festival will take place inside the historic Perth Town Hall and Cathedral Square lawn.

Events will also be staged at Curtin University City Buildings and the old WA Club on St George’s Terrace.

The four-day festival will be a deluge of dairy delights, featuring a dizzying array of cheese and liquor.

There will be degustations, cheese picnics, tastings with international cheese experts, fromage walking tours and a series of talks and masterclasses.

Among the highlights will be a lecture on making the ultimate cheese toastie with Jessica Arnott, who finished third on Masterchef Australia.

The Festival runs from November 11-13.
