Born in the Philippines, Ms Morales migrated to Perth in 2014 with her family and found work as an aged-care worker for Mercy Health.
A singer from a young age, the 21-year-old classical songstress was over the moon when she was accepted into the prestigious Bachelor of Music course at the WA Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) this year.
“I have been singing since I was very young, so I was very excited to get into WAAPA,” Ms Morales said.

READ NOW“Since I’ve lived in Perth, the residents at Mont Clare have encouraged me to follow my dreams; they love to hear me sing, particularly our residents living with dementia, and they’ve asked me to perform for them many times.”
On top of her music studies, Ms Morales is also studying diction, acting and Italian, a language she already performs classical songs in, as well as receiving private voice lessons at WAAPA.
“Working fulltime and studying means I’m pretty busy,” she said.
“I have to get up very early in the morning.
“But I love working here, it’s like a family. The residents, as well as my colleagues, are very supportive of me and my dreams to one day become an opera singer.”
