Ryan Thompson and Greg Chapman know the pain of having someone they love diagnosed with breast cancer.

Announced at last year’s Pink Ribbon Ball, the Men in Pink initiative took eight days to complete and required the climbers to wear six layers of thermals under their eye-catching suits.

‘The thought of all those women who had suffered with breast cancer keeps you going. It was cold and dark and horrible,’ Mr Thompson said.

‘You have a pep in your step when you’re coming back down because you did it, but you’re also grumpy and hungry,’ Mr Chapman said.

The duo want to raise $20,000 and their total figure raised will be announced at the 2013 Pink Ribbon Ball on October 19 at the Hyatt Regency Perth.
