Have your say on the future of landmark Subiaco site

The State Government forced the City of Subiaco to advertise the amendment in June after the council repeatedly rejected a development proposal for the site.

The council’s recommendation and all public submissions will be sent to the WA Planning Commission, with the final decision resting with Planning Minister John Day.

Community information sessions will be held on September 25 and 26 at the Subiaco Community Centre.

D2 managing director Ian Day said the next six weeks was an exciting time for people to hay a say about an important Subiaco landmark.

‘The decision to extend the rezoning to the entire block provides the opportunity for additional community input and future scheme amendments before any of those sites can be developed in the future,’ Mr Day said.

‘It in no way implies any further height than currently permitted and, in fact, will lead to much tighter control over the design of future buildings.’
