Spate of crime and car theft around yacht clubs, with $35K inflatable tender taken near JoJo’s jetty

Jon BassettWestern Suburbs Weekly

A WHITE $35,000 Avon inflatable tender was taken while it was moored near JoJo’s Restaurant jetty between January 5 and January 7 in a spate of crime at yacht clubs and thefts from nearby cars.

“It’s fair to say that people and their cars may be being targeted because the thieves know they are away, or boating, and they are well-to-do,” Senior Sergeant Julie Foley said.

Handbags, bags, credit cards and cash were taken from cars at nearby Matilda Bay and January 7 and Mounts Bay Yacht Club on January 9.
