A MULTI-AWARD-WINNING Quindalup home has been described as “faultless” at Saturday’s (Sept 16) 2017 HIA South-West Housing Awards, which highlight the outstanding building work in the region.

The four-bedroom, three-bathroom residence on Kinross Loop by Built By S took home the 2017 HIA South-West Home of the Year trophy and is a contemporary, north-facing pod-style home on 1ha of land with bushland views.

It features a clever mix of building materials including limestone rammed earth, Hebel aerated-concrete wall panels, Corten steel cladding, polished concrete floors and full-height north-facing sliding doors.

The project had already won a bevy of awards at the 2017 South-West Master Builders Building Excellence Awards in March, including best south-west home.

Built By S was by far the biggest winner on Saturday night, also walking away with custom-built home of the year, framed home of the year, and innovation in housing project of the year prizes.

HIA WA executive director John Gelavis said the awards offered the opportunity for the residential building industry in the region to be recognised by their peers.
