Swanbourne, 15 Garden Street – offers by April 5

Natalie HordovWestern Suburbs Weekly

WARM and welcoming, this two-storey home provides a comfortable, yet contemporary lifestyle.

The outdoor area has been refurbished, creating a beautiful space for entertaining, or just relaxing, by the pool and there are newly established water-wise gardens at the front and back of the home.

“We planted a Mediterranean-style water-wise garden with both indigenous plants and succulents, which is easy to maintain and very pretty,” the owners said.

“We also created a vegetable garden in round cortex structures, which has been successful and provided us with endless herbs and veggies.”

The inside of the home is just as attractive and functional as the exterior.

The layout offers great separation, with the children’s bedrooms at the front of the home, along with an activity area that opens to a private courtyard and an elegant bathroom with textured stone feature wall.

The open-plan living areas are at the back of the home.

Soaring ceilings add to the feeling of space and expanses of glass let in plenty of natural light.

Polished concrete flooring in the kitchen/dining area provides a stunning visual contrast to warm-toned Tasmanian oak floorboards in the living room.

The kitchen has Corian benchtops, breakfast bar, timber cabinetry, Miele appliances and a walk-in panty.

The large lounge/living room connects with the vine covered outdoor deck.

“The room is light, airy and peaceful and feels like we are in a resort,” said the owners.

The first floor is the parents’ domain with master bedroom, his-and-hers walk-in robes, ensuite, and large sitting area with kitchenette

There are lovely leafy views over Swanbourne and Lake Claremont, and you can even watch the Royal Show fireworks from the balcony.

The owners have lived in four houses in Swanbourne, and love the community.

The home is on a 693sq m block close to Scotch College, and within walking distance of the train station and Swanbourne Village.

“Being close to a lot of public amenity has been a wonderful asset,” the owners said.

“And the corner block was important to us as it has endless parking for friends and family.”

They are downsizing and moving on to another project and said it was a great opportunity for another big family to move in and enjoy what the house and community have to offer.
