Basketball: Binar takes out inaugural Naidoc carnival

BINAR took out double honours at the inaugural Naidoc basketball carnival at Bendat Basketball Centre last weekend.

The senior team won the men’s competition and Binar’s Troy Kelly won the three-point contest.

Magic won the senior women’s competition while Shanelle Jetta-Farmer won the women’s three-point contest.

Men’s MVP was Josh Kelly from Binar and Brandi Hansen from Magic was the women’s MVP.

There were 45 teams in the junior and senior competitions with players travelling from all over WA.

Basketball WA co-ordinated the competition with an Aboriginal reference group including Shanelle McSwain and Adam Desmond.

Arche Health, Headspace, Breastscreen WA and Richmond Wellbeing promoted health and wellbeing awareness off court.
