Josh Kennedy says Eagles won’t underestimate Gold Coast Suns

Denise S. CahillWestern Suburbs Weekly

JOSH Kennedy says the West Coast Eagles will not be taking the Gold Coast Suns for granted at Subiaco oval this weekend.

Speaking at Event and Conference Co’s Winning Mindset breakfast yesterday morning, the Wembley resident said the Gold Coast played well at Subiaco.

“Last time we played here we were 38 points up and only won by a point,” Kennedy said.

“As much as they are struggling with wins they know they can play well here and we need to prepare for that.”

When questioned about Tom Jonas’ hit on Andrew Gaff last weekend, Kennedy said the Port Adelaide player was immediately remorseful.

Kennedy said Jonas lined up on him for the rest of the game and apologised several times.

He said he did not believe Jonas was a dirty player but he made a big mistake in the contest with Gaff, who was knocked out for a few minutes.
