Nedlands men’s sevens coach Dylan Loversidge said the club consistently looked for ways to promote and grow the game.

“This time of year is perfect timing for a sevens tournament,” he said.

“The club has jumped at the opportunity to host its own tournament.

“Teams to watch will be the likes of Palmyra and West Scarborough.”

Loversidge said the men’s team played in Busselton and Cockburn to prepare for its home tournament.

“As a club, the goal will be to run a successful tournament,” he said.

“As a men’s team, we will definitely be looking to win the inaugural Swan River 7s tournament.”

The tournament will also serve as a registration day for junior players.
