AN AVID fisherman from WA’s north drove eight hours to collect his winnings from Perth’s Lotterywest headquarters.
The Northampton fisherman became the 49th Division One winner for WA in 2017.
The 51-year-old ex-labourer said it took him more than eight hours to drive into town to collect the winnings.

READ NOW“Mate, I drove pretty bloody carefully to get here because of the precious cargo I had tucked away in my back pocket,” he said.
The man said he planned to share his winnings with his mother and sister, as well as splashing out on his favourite hobby.
“My friends hate taking me out on their boats as I always catch the biggest fish,” he said.
“With a million bucks in my back pocket I can buy my own tinny now.”
