PERTH’S cheapest petrol station for 2017 has been revealed – and it’s a small independent retailer, tucked away in the hills.
Chidlow Growers Mart and Liquor Store took out the top spot with an average unleaded petrol price over the course of the year of 118.3 cents per litre.
Following in second and third place, respectively, was FastFuel 24/7 in Forrestfield (119.6 cents per litre) and Puma Neerabup (121.1 cents per litre).
Only one major retailer made it into the top 10 – Caltex Starmart North Wanneroo.
Commerce and Industrial Relations Minister Bill Johnston said the news was a “triumph for small business”.
“FuelWatch allows motorists to find the cheapest fuel in their neighbourhood and is a great tool to use to save money – especially during this festive season,” he said.
“Perth fuel prices have been slowly rising for the past five months, but it remains to be seen if this trend will continue in 2018.”
