Hills plumber Tom Crook gets award for logo design

The local business owner is the winner of the vehicle branding award for his memorable logo design in this year’s Master Plumber and Gas Fitters Association awards for excellence.

Mr Crook (29) received his award at the Crown grand ballroom in Burswood on Saturday.

The talented father of three combined his creative flair with his entrepreneurial drive and plumbing expertise to scoop the $500 prize, also placing fourth in the plumber of the year category.

Competition judges commented on the simple, elegant and effective design incorporating the three symbolic elements of water, eco-friendliness and gas.

Mr Crook said his wife Aimee inspired the design when she suggested he devise a simple but quirky brand for their business.

“I was passionate about art at school and much to my art teacher’s disappointment chose not to pursue a creative career,” he said.

“These days I do get to doodle and colour in with my kids.”

He designed the logo about six months after launching his Wattle Grove business and he entered the awards for the first time this year.
