EMERGENCY Services Minister Joe Francis visited Chidlow to appraise plans for an Anzac memorial in the village.
He viewed the design plan at the proposed site with representatives of the Chidlow Progress Association, Chidlow & District RSL sub-branch, Member for Swan Hills Frank Alban and Shire of Mundaring President David Lavell.
Mr Francis told CPA members he believed they would be successful with their LotteryWest grant application.
“From what I have heard and seen today, you have a project that is highly achievable,” he said.
Mr Alban said he had been a supporter of the Anzac memorial from its inception.
“We’re committed to seeing Chidlow, which has a great deal of military history, with its monument ready for Anzac Day 2017,” he said.
Mr Hackett said it was heartening to see the project “well within budget, value for money” as a result of the endorsement of others.
