Plane sailing: Boeing 737 makes journey to York from Perth Airport

ONLOOKERS gathered this morning to watch two decommissioned Boeing 737s make their way from Perth Airport to a new home in York.

The planes were loaded on to trucks for the 100km journey along Tonkin Highway, Roe Highway and Great Eastern Highway.

One of the retired OzJet planes will be available for public viewing at the White Gum Air Park in York whilst the other plane is set to be converted into a unique accommodation for tourists.

The aircraft had been deteriorating at Perth Airport for nearly a decade since Ozjet went into administration.
