THE Shire of Northam launched the consultation phase of a review of its strategic community plan 2012-2022 with a photo booth at Christmas on Fitzgerald last week.

Community planning agency Integral Development was appointed in mid-November to review the plan.

Shire chief executive Jason Whiteaker said in a “rapidly changing environment, priorities can shift”.

“The current strategic community plan is now at the half way mark so it is crucial that we consult with the community to ensure it remains relevant to community needs,” he said.

Top themes from the photo booth included longer retail opening hours, a heated pool, cinema, water park and hydrotherapy pool. Over the next few months people can name their priorities, answer surveys and contribute to focus groups.
