IT came, we saw and it conquered the skies, but now the world’s largest plane has left Perth.

The Antonov An-225 took off from Perth Airport bound for Italy at 6am this morning after a nearly two-day stay.

A smaller crowd was on hand to see the plane’s departure, after about 20,000 people attended its arrival on Sunday.

The plane delivered a 117-tonne generator from Prague for a WA mine and is now en route to Italy, via Dubai, to deliver a 25-tonne rotor.
