A RECORD 157 teams have registered for basketball this season at Mundaring Recreation Centre on Tuesday and Friday nights.
The Hills Raiders Basketball Association has had to roster five time slots over eight courts to accommodate games.
An association spokeswoman said the new recreation centre, due for completion at the end of 2017, would be a welcome relief.
With an extra four indoor courts to add to the current eight outdoors, the Raiders would be able to increase their registrations “even more”.
“The interest is certainly there,” she said.
More than 1250 players have formed teams from suburbs including Mundaring, Sawyers Valley, Chidlow, Gidgegannup, Mt Helena, Parkerville and Darlington.
There are male and female teams, as well as a mixed adults. Age groups go from under-8 to under-18 and adults.
