Kelmscott franchisees Gary and Helen Sims, who also own a store in Cannington, were chosen ahead of 68 stores nationwide.

"We were hoping we'd win the state prize, which we did and that was awesome but we never expected to win the national prize,” Mr Sims said.

"We have tried hard to stay positive and never give up. It's been a busy eight years getting Kelmscott to where it is today.

"Then last year we bought our second store in Cannington.

“While this is a great achievement, none of it would have been possible without the ongoing support of our wonderful hard working staff and the community."

The stores were judged across key areas including year on year sales increases, participation in staff training, compliance with the Clark Rubber model and store merchandising standards.

The winning franchisees will be sent on an all-expenses paid trip to New York to attend Retail's Big Show 2016.
