CLIFTON Park Oval’s change room upgrades have finally had their finishing touches added, with the mural adorning the building complete.

Friends and artists Mel McVee and Brenton See joined forces to add a dash of colour and creativity to the facility, home to Canning Vale Football Club and Canning Vale Junior Cricket Club.

The mural celebrates the flora and fauna which can be found in the Bush Forever site adjacent to the oval.

Hilton resident See said he hoped the mural would encourage people to explore the nature on their own doorstep.

“Sometimes people are more attracted to artwork. If you can do it nice and bright like we have, you’re going to attract more people over to it to look at it,” he said.

“You don’t often get a wall that is this close to bush. If people do walk past the art, they can hear the birds and it brings it together.”

McVee, who hails from Fremantle, said the project marked the first time the pair had collaborated with each other and their passion for nature made them perfect candidates for the job.
