100km taster for ultra-run challenge

The WA ultra-marathon runner completed 110 laps around the city to promote his forthcoming ‘Wheelie Big Challenge’ on May 16 to raise money for The Centre for Cerebral Palsy.

Children who access services at The Centre for Cerebral Palsy were waiting for Mr Simpkins at the finishing line to show their appreciation.

Mr Simpkins is hoping to raise $100,000 throughout his four-day running challenge.

The run is part of The Centre’s ‘Wheelie Big Challenge’ initiative that encourages people to take on a challenge.

‘At the basis of this crazy initiative, I thrive on my mobility and independence. I wanted to support an organisation that helps people with disabilities to become more mobile and independent,’ he said.
