75-year-olds charged over alleged 1980s abuse

TWO men were extradited from Queensland in relation to a sexual abuse alleged to have occurred in the late 80s.

Police investigating the alleged sexual assault of a then 13-year-old boy are appealing for more information to assist with their investigation.

A 75-year-old man was charged with five counts of indecent treatment of a child under 14 and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court again on September 10.

Another 75-year-old man was charged with three counts of indecent treatment of a child under 14, two of permit carnal knowledge of a male and two of carnal knowledge against the order of nature.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court next on July 10.

Police allege the incidents occurred at a car detailing shop on Treasure Road, Welshpool between 1985 and 1987.

They said the victim was 13-years-old at the time he was employed by the two men (in their 40s at the time) who managed the business.

Police are asking anyone who worked at or spent time at the business from 1985 to 1989 to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, if they have information regarding the alleged offences.

Police encourage people to call 131 444 if they are or have been the victim of child abuse or if they have information about someone being abused.
