Advisory group members needed for major infill project

Ben SmithCanning Gazette

THE Department of Communities is on the hunt for members to join an advisory committee for one of Perth’s largest residential infill developments.

Members are being sought for the Bentley Community Liaison Committee (BCLC) to help guide the Bentley 360 project.

Once complete, the Bentley 360 project is expected to provide at least 1500 new homes at the site of the old Brownlie Towers complex, which is in the process of being demolished.

BCLC chairman Ian Carter said the project was exciting and had the potential to create a thriving community.

“The Department of Communities and the eventual appointed development partner want to listen to people’s ideas as they move forward with this exciting new project,” he said.

“The BCLC has a key advisory role that connects the communities’ views to the Department of Communities and its future development partner.

“We’re interested in people who can work together to represent the views of this diverse community, and positively contribute to the experience of Bentley 360 now and into the future.”

Once formed, the 10-person committee is expected to meet bi-monthly and members will serve a three-year term.

To nominate for the committee, visit the Bentley 360 website. The deadline to apply has been extended to close of business on June 11.
