FORMER St Norbert College student Simon Harvey will return to the Queens Park school as principal.

Mr Harvey will be the eighth principal in the 52-year history of the college, replacing current principal Annette Morey, who has been appointed principal of Mater Dei College in Edgewater.

Mr Harvey said he was excited to be returning to St Norbert College in a leadership capacity.

“The school community is built on the wonderful contributions of past and present staff, students, families and the Norbertines and I hope I can add positively to this,” he said.

After graduating from St Norbert College in 1988, Mr Harvey taught at Catholic schools in WA, including Emmanuel Catholic College and Trinity College as deputy principal, as well as vice-principal at Chisholm Catholic College.

Mr Harvey said his philosophy on education revolved around the idea of education being more than just an academic experience for students.

“Education must focus on what is in the best interests of all students and their development as whole persons,” he said.
