THROUGHOUT the school holidays, Bentley Library had 10 cute reasons to warrant a visit.
As part of a hatching program, the library incubated 10 chicken eggs for children and adults to watch hatch.
Fitted with an electronic thermostat, the eggs were kept at the right temperature for a high hatch rate and large viewing windows for children to see all stages of hatching.
Later the chicks moved to a brooder box complete with heat light, bedding, feed and water, which allowed for easy observation and access to the chicks.
Youngsters had the chance to play and interact with the chatty birds before they head off to grow in a free-range environment.
