THE $700 million Bentley Regeneration Project is slated to commence this year and continue throughout 2017 according to planning minister Donna Faragher.
Speaking on behalf of Housing Minister Colin Holt in State Parliament on May 17, Ms Faragher said remediation, civil works and infrastructure upgrades was slated for 2016-17, however stopped short of outlining a timeline for project completion.
“Final project scheduling will be dependent on approvals as well as project investment decisions,” she said.
When probed by opposition spokeswoman Kate Doust how much of the project’s cost was projected over forward estimates Ms Faragher said $15 million.
“The amount of $15 million in expenditure is currently projected over the forward estimates to deliver civil works and infrastructure upgrades,” she said.
“The Housing Authority’s intent is to secure a development partner in 2017, at which time project budgets and funding will be finalised.”
