“We did a Pancreatic Cancer walk, helped out with Bentley Harmony Day, and supported the Cannington Police vs Indigenous Schools sporting games to help build relationships,” Ms Wilmot said.

But the best bit of the Relay for her was not holding the baton but riding on the bus with 27 nominees.

“Just being on the bus with all the other nominees was the highlight, hearing how they were nominated and what they’ve done for the community,” Ms Wilmot said.

She said holding the baton was a good experience that inspired her to keep doing more.
