Big Bethanie Bake Off: Orana Primary’s Mikayala Richardson named best kid

Pia van StraalenCanning Gazette

WITH her gran by her side, Orana Primary School Student Mikayala Richardson (11) was named the Best Kid at the 2016 Big Bethanie Bake Off .

Plating up a Melanzane Con Salsa, a luxurious Italian dish with eggplant, tomato and cheese, Mikayala and grandmother Christine Scali were just doing what makes them happy – cooking with someone they love.

Held at Burswood Park as part of Have a Go Day, the competition aimed to close the intergenerational gap between our seniors and young people.
