UPDATE: Beckenham BMW abandoned after police pursuit, pair arrested

A BMW sedan believed stolen from Beckenham on Saturday morning was allegedly involved in a police pursuit later that night through several south eastern suburbs.

Armadale Detectives attempted to stop the car in Armadale about 8.45pm but said the driver failed to stop. The car was eventually found abandoned at Mary Carroll Park in Gosnells.

Police arrested a man and a woman nearby a short time later.

A 25-year-old man from Medina is facing a string of charges including aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, stealing a motor vehicle, stealing, possession of stolen property, reckless driving to escape police and no authority to drive.

A 26-year-old woman from Kondinin has been charged with stealing a motor vehicle and giving false details to Police.

Police believe the BMW was stolen from Beckenham during an early morning break-in on Saturday by four men.

The men allegedly threatened people inside the Railway Parade home before stealing the car and other personal items.

Police said one was armed with a knife and another may have had a gun.

No other arrests had been made in relation to the Beckenham burglary on Sunday morning.
