The Men’s Shed has an upgraded workshop and new woodwork and metalwork machinery provided through SITA Australia’s Community Grants Program.

Station Street Men’s Shed committee secretary Kevin Morris said the funding allowed for the purchase of larger machinery needed to undertake worthwhile projects for the local community.

‘The grant has helped our Men’s Shed establish better workshop facilities for men and create a space where they can meet and develop personal friendships, learn about their health and wellbeing and develop new manual skills,’ Mr Morris said.

‘The funding from SITA will help us keep members actively engaged and establish the facilities needed to undertake meaningful community projects, including maintenance projects for the Cannington Agricultural, Horticultural and Recreational Society.’
