Canning River Canoe Club puts out call for members

EXPERIENCE the tranquillity and beauty of the Canning River this winter with the Canning River Canoe Club.

Club members meet every Tuesday night at the Shelley Sailing Club on Watersby Crescent in Shelley from April to October and at the Kent Street Weir in Wilson for the rest of the year.

President Christian Thompson said members ranged from nine to 85 years with varying levels of ability and different types of watercraft.

One of the club’s most accomplished members is Luke Egger, 14 of Mount Pleasant (pictured) who was recently accepted into the Australian Olympic team and will compete in the Czech Republic in the Olympic Hopes Regatta this September.
