THIS weekend’s Canning Show finishes on Saturday night with a bigger and better Live at the Canning Show concert, headlined by Melbourne act the Merindas.

The Australian Aboriginal contemporary soul duo will hit the stage just after 8pm and following performances by the Bambuseae Rhythm Section and Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys.

Friday night showgoers can watch a performance by ZAP Circus and at 9pm, the traditional fireworks display.

The Showtime Talent Quest will be a highlight on Saturday, with a range of local artists earning the right to perform through earlier auditions.

Canning Show spokeswoman Hilary Callaghan said the show as always would have something for all ages, with demonstrations, community displays and all the fun of sideshow alley rides, attractions and showbags.

The full itinerary is available here.

The theme of this year’s show is local and rural emergency services and there will be displays from the Royal Flying Doctor Service, as well as an antique fire truck offering rides.

Tickets for either Friday or Saturday are $11 for adults and free for children under 16.
