Canning Vale Primary marks 15 years as Waterwise school during National Water Week

STUDENTS at Canning Vale Primary School have been learning the precious resource of water as part of National Water Week celebrations.

Teachers at the school have been educating students about the importance of saving water since 2001, through Water Corporation’s Waterwise Schools Program.

National Water Week is held in October each year.

This year’s theme was water – life – growth and encouraged sound water practices and investment in water sources.

For 21 years, 563 Waterwise Schools have been recognised across Western Australia.

Canning Vale Primary School Waterwise Schools’ program co-ordinator Jackie Lange said water education at the school was embedded across all year levels as part of the curriculum.

“National Water Week is a great way of reminding the students of the importance of water conservation,” she said.
